The first to bring HD production, Steve Wargo is
not afraid to be the first to aquire the latest technology. He showed
that in 2002 when he purchased the very first Sony F-900 HD camera, also
known as the "Lucas Camera". The $100,000+ F-900 was developed by Sony,
Panavision and Lucas to be used for Lucas' Star Wars: Episode II, the
first HD feature film. The F-900 remains as the most widely used camera
in the world for 24p HD production.
Our newest addition is a pair of Sony EX-1 HD cameras that are the hottest, fully
functional camera on the HD market today. Recording to flash memory cards,
the EX-1 shoots full raster, 1920 x 1080 HD in MPEG long GOP. Released
in early December, 2007, we have the first two cameras to hit Arizona,
purchased through BandPro, in Burbank, the world leader in high end HD
production equipment. (www.bandpro.com)
The Controversial Pictures partnership includes a Sony HDCAM editing deck
and 5 Final Cut editing systems including a 17" laptop that can process
HD footage from the Sony EX-1 camera.
